Production of the first three-wheeled truck begon in October 1931 at a new factory in the outskirts of Hiroshima city. It was called the Mazda Type-DA.

The Type-TCS was extremely practical and strong due to its adoption of a double frame. It is also the oldest example of a Three-wheeled truck that Mazda currently owns. An example is on display in the Mazda museum.
